Sunday we woke up late and eventually made it down to the pool area where they had lunch set up; I still wasn't feeling 100% after the night before but I started to feel better after putting away some roast beef and onion on pumpernickel. After we ate I ignored the voice of my mother in my head and changed into my swim shorts and got into the pool without waiting an hour. I immediately got a cramp and drowned.

Actually I took a little break and did a little more catch-up reading for class while I sat near the pool, and then ended up in the middle of a couple huddles in the middle of the pool and hot-tub for the A Bear's Life photographer. Eventually I let myself drip-dry a little and then went back to the room to change for the cookout and party at the Eagle.

The party was good; I actually ate hot dogs and liked them. I spent most of the evening hanging with the hotness that is [livejournal.com profile] fatboy54 and his equally sexy boyfriend Trevor. I came home from the bar exhausted but very happy, and jealous of England. We'd planned on ordering a pizza but in my stupor I forgot what room they were in, and so did Ron, and so we never managed to get back to them and eat pizza. *sigh*

Monday morning we managed to get ourselves up relatively on time and I packed up the car while Ron finished up things with the front desk people. We had a small setback when we couldn't find our directions home (a bad thing since we were returning by a different route than we followed to get there) but we managed to get back into the Club suite and print out the directions there.

The drive was uneventful; we stopped for dinner in Christiansburg, VA, a town where Ron had attended a leather wedding ages ago. I was a little nervous in the restaurant because it has been yoiks since the last time I was in a place with nobody but white people, and there we were: the only mixed-race couple there — him being eye-talian and me being German and all. The food was good, though, and it was good to get out of the car. We made the whole trip in about 15 hours and got home after midnight (as I have already posted.)

Today I returned the car and discovered that it was going to cost about $50 less than we thought. Woohoo! I started my class this morning, a little sleepy, and now I'm finishing out my day of work. One more hour to go... whee.

Hi all! Home safe, just now. Drove from 10 this morning until I just plopped myself down a few minutes before 1.

I am not going to do my update now, but suffice it to say that I had a marvelous time in Atlanta thanks to three or four special people (in addition to the special person that I carry around with me for such purposes, [livejournal.com profile] bearon68.) As soon as the AC gets the bedroom habitable, I'm collapsing, so g'nite!

Mornin' y'all.. I'm sitting in the Club Lounge of the Atlanta Sheraton, having just gotten back from the Atlanta Eagle and finding the communal computer abandoned. Figure I'll take a few minutes to update so I don't have to try to remember everything after it's all had time to get hazy.

Anyway, I'll head to bed soon and get some actual rest. Check y'all later!
